Summary

This is the dual fan version of popular Satsana designed by eric-anastas, whith uses two 5015 radial fans, is fully compatible with E3D Titan mounted as direct extruder.

Now available is Version Revolv, heavily modified Dual Satsana. The main changes is improved air ducts, left 5015 is powered directly from the main fan. This should lower the air temperature from the left duct.
Revolv setup is the same as previously versions!

Setup

Step-By-Step

Installation of my Dual Satsana is more complicated that orginal Satsana, so it's
step-by-step instruction:

At first remove everything from carriage... yes everything, Hotend too.

Extruder Plate

Now you can put bushings between the wheels and carriage into extruder plate
(file name: Carriage_Extruder_Plate_Improved), I used soldering station to blend in this metal parts into model. Its the best way. If you don't have soldering station, you can enlarge holes using 8mm drill and stick bushings into them with hammer.

Make sure that bushings slightly protrude from the plate from the flat rear site.

Stepper Motor and Extruder

Connect extruder and stepper motor to model from file "Extruder_Mount_Improved".

I used LDO motor whith is lighter and smaller than defaut in Ender and has 0.9° per rotatinon, instead standard 1.8°, so has twice larger resolution. Conected with Titan, that have triple gear ratio, extruder resolution is six times bigger.

Remember! Installing Titan extruder or better motor you have to recalibrate extruder resolution in printer EEPROM. It's not a tutorial about extruder calibration, but remember, calibration is necessary!
I reccomend do this before instaling extruder and motor to carriage.

Hotend

Install Extruder Plate and after that hotend.

Satsana

And next, you can mount Satsana (file name: Dual_Satsana_Body_V2.1 or REVOLV_Body if you use Revolv version) on carriage.

Calibration

Fan ducts must be little higher than nozzel. Overall heigh can be adjusted to different nozzels hight, like in orgilanl Satsana.

Extruder Support

If you mount extruder and stepper motor only on two screws screwed into the back of the extruder plate, its will bend down forward. Against that I recommend add small plastic plate behind Satsana and motor:

In my case 1mm thickness is good, but this thickness is strongly connected with nozzel hight, the higher nozzle, thinner plate must be installed. Personally, I used piece of PCV, but you can download file "Plate", default thickness of this is 1mm, but as I said, you must adjust it.

Important Info About "Plate"

In older version there are two holes to mount extruder supprot, in current version only one, because the second screw was blocked by Satsana geometry. On the pictures can you see old version, but installation is the same, just without one screw.

Bowden

Put schort bowden into hotend, 90-95mm, not more.

Final Extruder Instalation

Almost over! Now you can put second site of bowden into extruder, screw extruder to the extruder plate with two M3x6 (I used this from default ender extruder) or M3x8 screws, and with single M4x8 to the Satsana body.

And remember, if thickness of plate behind stepper motor and Satsana is less than 1,5mm, you should use pad under screw.

5015

And finally, install 5015 fans using four M4x20 screws.

Cable Menagement

For cable of left 5015 I designed special trough behind the hotend.

Soldering Tip

5015 fans must be connected in parallel, Plus to Plus, Minus to Minus, Red to Red, Black to Black. Default Ender fan was conected with blue and yellow cable, blue is Minus, Yellow is Plus. So, Red to Yellow, Black to Blue.

Important Info About Titan Connector

Very important when installing Titan Extruder is to reverse stepper motor plug, or resolder the wires. Titan have triple gear ratio whith works like a reverse, so you must turn around direction of rotation of the stepper motor.

Final Efect

Dual Satsana with Direct Titan Extruder is mounted, now just level your bed and print something.

Model was replaced by REVOLV_Body STL file.

Rest of models are the same as in 2.2 version!

In the near future I'm going to print same test models and compare results with standard Satsana, so soon I will publish comparison photos.

On my Thingiverse profile I created Collection "Dual Satsana" where I will add accessories to Dual Satsana. In my nearest plans is mount for dial indicator and BL-Touch.
