Summary

North Carolina Highway 12 (NC 12) is a 148.0-mile-long (238.2 km) primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina, linking the peninsulas and islands of the northern Outer Banks.

This Highway sign logo is in every souvenir shop along slow corridor through Duck, Nag's Head, and Kitty Hawk & the beach houses. I thought it would be a fun project to give my sister a Rt. 12 keychain as a memento of the vacation our family had on the Banks.

To get the keychain super smooth (as the scale is quite small) I used the Prusa Slicer, and enabled ironing. I've included a white and black .gcode with ironing enabled for those with Ender3 printers. (The filament I used recommends 220, so adjust on first layer if needed.)

Clean up the white ring I had to very glently sand off a corner "blob" or two. 3 passes with 120 grit sand paper very gingerly so as not to bend the part.

Super glue & snap together. I also clamped using quick clamps while it dried.
*to glue the white ring, I squirted some super glue onto a waste piece of plastic and spread it thin, the put the white ring in the smear just gluing the bottom edge.
I dry fit everything first to make sure it fit. & sanded as needed. Use a little tiny screwdriver to gently get the white ring back out. (it may not need glue depending on your fit)
