Summary
Here is a simple responsive yo-yo model. I printed the ends wide side down in TPU for its durability and the center threads in PLA. If you print it "inside" or thin side down you might technically need supports in the threads.
To get it up around 70 grams I think it took 90% infill.
Oh, print the yo yo part twice and you need your own string.

I like TPU because it is safe to bounce off the floor. There is no reason PLA would not work. Someday I might try one in PETG with maybe 40 bottom layers for weight and a thin top with 10% - 20% infill to see how it looks.
