Folding Frame for Brake Light
Made a folding rack for my bicycle brake light. Snap fit. Folds down for use, and up for transport.
Rear Mounting Plate Bending Guide
The rear mounting plate I printed flat, then heated with a kitchen blowtorch and bent by hand.
- Draw a straight line 1in/25mm from the edge of the plate on both sides.
- Lower the plate into a benchtop vice and secure such that the marked line is flush with the top of the vice.
- Use the blowtorch to heat the PLA to it's malleable point. Note that this does not take long, do not set the piece on fire.
- While the PLA is warm (& still secured in the vice), bend it 90 degrees. Hold until it cools enough to "set", you may wish to blow on it to speed cooling.
- Repeat the clamping, heating, and bending process with the other side.
OR print the mounting frame that's made such that you don't have to bend it, this is the
"no bend" file.
Takes #8 screws
Takes US--sized #8 screws & nuts on the light plate mounting. 4mm screws should also work.
