Summary

I designed a case for some small Anker items I keep misplacing in my cable/charger/adapter bag. It should protect the items and make them easier to locate. The case has two parts that snap together. It's a tight fit, so I added a tab to help lift the lid off the case.

It holds items from the Anker USB-C to USB 3.0 Female Adapter (2-Pack) and the Anker 2-in-1 USB C to SD/Micro SD Card Reader. Links to the items are below.

I used a 0.4 mm nozzle to print. The outside edge of the lid is 0.8 mm, so there could be print issues with a different nozzle size.

Used 2 perimeters, Gyroid fill pattern, and Octagram Spiral for base pattern (for fun). Sliced with PrusaSlicer 2.6.0.

How I Designed This

Designed in AutoCAD (I used both AutoCAD Map3D and AutoCAD for Mac). I started for all of 2 minutes with TinkerCAD, but I realized how challenging it would be to the get the 3D fillets how I wanted. Since I have access to AutoCAD, I used what I know.

I took measurements of the adapters/card reader as well as the original packaging using some cheap calipers I got from Ax-Man Surplus on a trip to Minnesota (my first time using them, so happy with the accuracy). There were a couple of iterations and test prints before I settled on the current model.
