Summary
I designed the support from skratches following the very good design of @Boothyboothy (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4461496) to extend the support in order to fit the larger 2Kg filament spools.
I kept the original concept of being able to re-use the Ender 3 original rod/connector and steel plate.
The part can be printed without any support (depending on the settings of your printer you may just experience some very minor imperfection in the very top part of the component, near the top bolt hole which in any case will be hidden by the steel plate when assembled).
I printed with both 0.2 and 0.28 layers with no problems.
I will link here also the alternative extended filament rod which I designed to fit the 2Kg spool.
