Post-Printing

Installation

This item should be ready for immediate use (notwithstanding any cleaning), straight from the bed.

It is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you take the time to optimise your air conditioning settings, prior to further proceeding.

This item only allows you to remotely turn your air conditioning off and on to the last used settings, so it is well worthwhile to get the best settings you need to get set on the controller (e.g. pre-soak enabled; time if you care at all about it being right; level set to most preferred) to minimise faffing.

Leave the 3M tape AND IT'S REMOVABLE COVERING on the SwitchBot bot, exactly as it was shipped.
By design, this will give just enough compression to keep the bot held tightly against the controller, with no need to use ANY adhesives. :)

Position and hold the bot into the cradle, with its arm facing downwards, then slip the mounting onto the controller from the left hand side.

You will then need to fine tune the positioning, until you find the sweet spot, and you've got the action working correctly and reliably.
For positioning purposes, despite the display being largely obscured, you can at least see some indication of on off status on the controller - (the right bit of) two horizontal bars only being visible when the aircon is active.
Repeatedly trigger the bot multiple times, until you have it operating well, at least three or four times in a row.

Usage

Once assembled, it is recommended that:

You only use your home automation to generally control your evaporative cooling, thereafter.
The mounting and bot are left in place, and not removed for general usage purposes, as it always may be a bit of faffing the get the bot correctly positioned.

All the controller buttons remain accessible for manual usage, however the screen will of course be largely obscured. Level can be tweaked in use, but of course you then won't be sure of what the level is, until the bot assembly is removed, and the display then wholly revealed. In case of doubt, you can always just keep pressing up to get to max, without removing the bot assembly.

I personally use and recommend the Home Assistant (HA) platform, with either HA Bluetooth connectivity within range of where your bot will be mounted (recommended for full local control) installed and working; and/or the SwitchBot integration (which will require a working internet connection).
Either of these will provide you with a two state, on/off switch, pressing either state will trigger your bot.
Hook this up to an appropriate HA Thermostat (with 1 degree tolerance recommended for optimal battery life) in concert with a full house temperature sensor, and bingo, _your life just got a good deal cooler. :)

Maintenance

The only routine maintenance, is periodic replacement of the single SwitchBot bot CR2 battery (https://youtu.be/hpLsW5WYwFY).
Batteries are rated to last up to 600 days, but naturally this will be dependent upon the frequency of usage.

HOWEVER be aware that in case of your house or controller losing power, you will need to reset your settings at the controller. In this instance, removal of the bot for set up, and replacement will likely be necessitated.
