Summary
I designed this for a larger project involving dust collection for a router table. The adapters connect using a twist lock design. The magnets while not completely necessary, help with the connections rigidity.
Materials used:
(Qty: 8) Neodymium Magnets (8mm x ~1.8mm)
(Qty: 2) M5 Hex Head Bolt
(Qty: 2) M5 Threaded Inserts
The knurled knob fits snug onto an M5 hex head bolt.
I used threaded inserts, but they aren't necessary. A bolt with a wing nut will be sufficient.
The vacuum adapter has an inner diameter of 31mm
The sander adapter has an inner diameter of 43mm
Use superglue to secure the magnets.
