No springs, no rafts, no multiple files... It's all just an elegant butterfly wing hair clip design that snaps shut with a rubber band tightly twisted around it. Each wingpiece has four prongs that slide perfectly past each other through the use of a hinge piece that has been designed to let the wings rotate to a 180° angle. This allows the clip to look like a butterfly with its wings spread out when the clip is fully shut.

The butterfly clip can also be used as decoration by placing it on any item that it can clip onto, such as a lampshade or a decorative wall fixture, or even to look like a butterfly landed on your finger.

You can precisely adjust how open you want the wings to be when in hair by placing more hair for it to clip onto or by firmly pressing the prongs into each other to open the wingspan.

Post-Printing

Placing the Rubber Band

Don't forget to remove the breakable support material underneath the clip "prongs."

-- Carefully clip off supports and remove stringing.

Place the clip in the open position. Next, tightly stretch the rubber band around the base groves of the clip and place one side across the upper groves and clip mouth.

-- Repeat this on the other side. Repeat until the rubber band is tight and secure.

Note: If the clip doesn't close all the way when in hair or does not grip as tight as it should, carefully squeeze the prongs closed through the hair with your fingers
