Summary

My 2005 GX470 rear door pull broke, but I didn't see any paracord door pulls that worked like the OEM version and inserted through the sheetmetal squares. I think everything required removing the door panel to mount a bolt behind the sheetmetal. So I designed this door pull insert piece and went through a dozen or so variations of this until I had a solid attachment to the door and holes to tie the paracord to.

Works on my 2005 GX470 rear door. The square holes in the sheetmetal aren't the same, so there are 2 heights in the STL files so they fit snugly. I printed with supports and then removed the supports from the through-hole, but it would probably print fine without supports. The through-hole was designed for a M5 x 0.8 x 30mm bolt (from the Harbor Freight metric bolt / washer / nut kit).

I used the 3d printed insert ends and followed "cobra" paracord bracelet instructions to make the pull. I spaced the knobs about 22cm apart and the tails were 140cm long. So about 325cm total paracord to make this. Give yourself a little extra and you can always cut the excess.

I originally printed in PLA and it worked well. But living in California the car gets wicked hot during the summer, so I bought some brown PET to go with my beige interior. It looks better and should hold up better! Supports seem optional, and I printed a 2 line skirt. Had good adhesion to the heated glass surface for me.
