Summary

I received my copy of Papillon Gardens the other day in the mail, and upon unboxing it, I discovered the contents EVERYWHERE. The game box was far too big, the stamp pads had escaped and two had become uncapped (I did save them, don't despair), the punchboards were half punched just from travel...the box was a mess. So of course, I had to fix it. This insert is more of a divider with a couple removable trays and a place for full-length pencils, plus an ink tray JUST IN CASE one of the stamp pads decides to leak. The ink tray is entirely optional to print.

There is a spacer for underneath the paper pads. I suggest you print this with no top or bottom layers to save on filament. For this, I used the honeycomb infill. The spacer can be removed if you acquire more paper pads for the game, but it may destabilize the seat of where the card and token tray sits. My printed prototype passes the shake test, although due to the stamp pads, I'll be storing it flat.

How I Designed This

I simply grabbed a pencil and paper and a ruler, took measurements of the components, then played Tetris in the box bottom until I found a stacking order that made good use of the large box. From there, I gave everything a 1mm buffer for ease of fit, and made adjustments to the first prototype to add a thumb/grab hole for the decor tiles. The ink tray was an afterthought, but I rounded all the corners so it's easy to stuff into the ink stamper spot, and it should be thick enough to catch any leak that occurs if the pads break.

Feel free to print the spacer solid, but I recommend simply printing without top and bottom layers and honeycomb infill for best strength, stability, time and filament savings.
