Summary

This case will securely attach the remote control to the Deus shaft and protect it from dirt, debris and scratches. The case consists of a rigid back plate and mounting stub with a TPU cover and optional shield. Detector settings can be easily changed by pressing on the flexible cover while keeping the remote control safe and clean.

Print the cover and shield with solid walls using TPU 95A. The back plate and mounting stub can be printed from any rigid material such as PLA, PETG, ABS, etc.

M2 studs are glued into the cover allowing it to be attached to the back plate with M2 thumb nuts. Studs can be made by cutting the heads off M2 x 10 mm screws. The holes in the cover for the studs are 5mm deep and difficult to print. Use a 2mm drill bit to open them up prior to inserting the studs.

The cover has a hole on the upper left side for the antenna wire.

The mounting stub is attached to the back plate using M3 x 10 mm screws and Nylock nuts. The straight stub aligns the remote’s display with the Deus shaft. The left hand and right hand stubs turn the remote’s display towards the user's face. M3 x 8mm sheet metal screws work well to attach the case to the shaft. Drilling 2mm diameter pilot holes is recommended.

The optional shield helps keep dirt off the remote’s display and reduces glare on bright sunny days. The optional button labels make it easier to know where to press on the cover, especially if the cover is printed on a textured build plate.
