    For slicing, we constrain Creality Ender 3 as the main printer, with a 0.8 mm nozzle and PLA material.
    For slicing settings, we increase shell and decrease infill for parts that need to be stronger, such as electronic enclosure and water tank. Conversely, we do the opposite for parts that need to be weaker, such as the leader and enclosure cover. Finally, we believe there is no need for supports for any of the 3D design components.

System Components

System Operation

-Soil Moisture Monitoring: The system continuously monitors soil moisture levels. When the moisture falls below a preset threshold, indicating the need for watering, the water pump is activated.

-Water Tank Level Check: The water tank level sensor regularly checks the water level. Based on the level detected, the LED indicators display green for above 50%, yellow for 20-50%, and red blinking light for below 20%.

-Water Pump Activation: If the water tank level is sufficient, the water pump is activated to supply water to the plants. If the water level falls below 20%, the alarm is triggered, and the water pump is shut down to prevent damage.

-Visual Feedback: LED indicators provide instant visual feedback on the water tank level, allowing users to take necessary actions such as refilling the tank. Also the OLED displays a message "Watering plant in progress" when the pump is active.

-Temperature Monitoring: The temperature sensor continuously monitors the ambient temperature and displays it on the OLED display, ensuring optimal growing conditions for the plants.

Electrical circuit design

NOTE :we've added relays to provide protection to the control circuit by isolating it from the high-voltage load circuit. Additionally, relays are robust and durable components designed to withstand frequent switching operations, ensuring the longevity and reliability of the system.
so , using relays with water pumps enhances safety, enables remote control, and ensures the efficient operation of the pump system.

Notes:

  • The prototype‘s Dimensions are 200mmx150mmx150mm.
  • All these dimensions were taken into consideration in additive manufacturing design.
    consideration of dimensions will enhance the quality, functionality, and efficiency of your
    final product.

1- Plant Container(Box)
This box was provided to us with (74mmx99mm)

2- Water Tank
*Take into consideration the dimensions of the water sensor and wire management.
-Inlet for the water pump, taking into account its
diameter.
-M2 screw mounts for water level sensor (3.5mm hole diameter)

3- Tank cover
Tank cover with a hole for Vinyl Tubing
for water pump, 8mm outer diameter.

5- Electronics Enclosure
Electric enclosure for all components, including a box holder and space for a relay and soil model on the left. In the middle ,there's space for an OLED display(4 M2 holes 2.5mm)with three LEDs under it. On the right side, Finally, at the bottom, there are ventilation holes and some space for the remaining components
