Summary

I wanted to use a listen-only earpiece with my radio, but when I fully plugged it in it triggered the PTT until it was removed. I discovered that pulling the jack out slightly made it work, so I made a spacer for it, but it created another problem of plug retention since it no longer clicked into place.
I made this spacer plug into the unused charge port and grip the 2.5 mm jack to create good retention. The spacer can be left in the charge port while the jack gets inserted and removed holding down the jack side of the spacer.
It didn't seem like the volume actually changes on the earpiece so it's stuck at max volume, but I was using this at a loud festival so it worked out for me.
