Summary

Springtime, finally. Plenty of seeds that need some kind of special attention (some extra warmth, extra humidity...). Following up on my earlier simple seed starter (of which we use dozens in our small green house), here is s fully automatic (well kind of...), self-watering seed starter, mainly intended for in house (window sill, green house...) use.

It uses the same 2x2 simple seed starter from my earlier post but with an added tray, lid, and floater. Once the seedlings have started growing (and don't need special attention), you can simply remove them from the tray and put them in a green house. We are using these mostly for peppers and other seeds that need more warmth and/or humidity than they would otherwise geed in our green house (i.e. we simply put them on our heater).

PRINTING. This should be a pretty simple print. Ideally set line width to 0.5 mm (walls are 1 and 1.5 mm). Preferably use low vertical resolution for faster print. Print the lid in your favorite transparent filament and print upside down. Infill does not matter. No supports needed. I use some cheap epoxy resin for sealing my prints (i.e. making them waterproof, in this case I used it for the trays only).

FILAMENT. Use PLA for biocompatible kits or PETG if you want them to withstand higher temperatures. I use some cheap and easy to print CF PLA for the seed starters and trays, transparent for the lids.
