Summary

This is a simple 2-piece Z-axis belt locking mechanism for any 3D printer which uses a GT2-6 belt running on 10mm pulleys at the ends of the leadscrews to synchronize the two motor/leadscrew drives.

The device slides over the two sections of the belt either close to or right up against one of the blocks supporting the Z-axis belt pulley.

This device can be used, for example, to lock the left-hand Z axis motor while you loosen the right-side Z axis leadscrew to adjust Gantry level.

There are 3 stl files, the "B" part is the front section with the slot that the thumbscrew goes through. The "A" part is the back section into which the "A" part fits, and into which the thumbscrew threads. There are two "A" part files, the one with "HSI" in its filename features a hole designed to accept an M4 heat set insert, and the one that has "NHSI" in its filename features a hole designed to allow the thumbscrew to self-tap into the part.

The slot in the "B" part permits the two parts to slide past one another for some several millimeters when the thumbscrew is loose, permitting fine-tuning of the locked Z axis position. The thumbscrew, when tightened, prevents the parts from sliding, ths locking the Z axis in the desired position.
