Note: This is a work in progress.
Take the original Gutter Cleaner design, add in a gopro 2 prong socket in horizontal position (this is a deliberate choice).
The idea: Use this Gutter Cleaner in conjunction with (1) gopro 2-and-3 prong connecting piece that twists 90 degrees, and (2) an extension pole with a gopro 3 prong socket. You can use a broomstick connector like the one I have here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6545325
This setup gives you TWO degrees of freedom in articulating the Gutter Cleaner in left-right and up-down orientations.
Overall my testing went well. Print setting is a bit tricky (see below). I am still experimenting with this.
Even though scad is available, you dont really need it since gopro mounts are standardized, and I didnt muck with the original Gutter Cleaner dimensions.

My original print for the Gutter Cleaner:
- I printed "standing upside down", with the J hook saluting to the clouds.
- I had base plate support for the horizontal 2-prong gopro socket, but nowhere else.
It had issues with tightness/oversizing for the gopro socket. I learned to avoid having support material in between the 2-prong gopro socket. It was a huge pain in the ass to sand.
The J hook parts did not have support, so they were a little stringy. It did not compromise the structural integrity at all, only aesthetically looked ugly.
My suggestion for future print for the Gutter Cleaner:
- Print it FLAT. Use paint on support for the J hook. But not the gopro socket.
Printing in 0.3mm layer height should be fine for gopro socket dimensioning. I have printing other gopro parts in 0.3mm without any tolerance issues. Just make sure not to put support material between the prongs.
For the gopro connector:
- Since it does a twist, there's no "flat side" you can print that would avoid overhangs.
- Next best option: Print the connector on its "edge". You will need to brace support from plate EXCEPT the prongs. Be sure to use paint on support to achieve this.
