Summary
The screw that holds the chain into the carriage was cross threaded and broke. This part does two things, secures the chain end back onto the print head, but also lifts it about 5mm which stops the chain dragging on the rail.
Print in ABS or some other high temp material.
This is a direct replacement for the black plastic part under the cowl which the data leads are cable tied to, and includes cavities for the locator springs, and the cable ties.
