Whenever I use one of these cheapo wireless chargers from Aliexpress (currently $1.79/piece) I have to pay attention to center my phone perfectly, otherwise it won't charge through its fairly thick protective case - and then not to knock it, not to let it slide off-center.
So I projected a replacement box for the guts from the cheap charger, with corner ridges that let me drop the phone in, and keep it perfectly aligned.
Designed for Mi9, 160 x 75mm (6.2 x 3 in) but a parametric FreeCAD project is attached, just edit the dimensions in the spreadsheet.
You will need one of these ~$2 wireless chargers. They all use the same electronics, despite different cases.
Print the two parts, using two colors might be fun.
Detach the 4 rubber feet and keep them, they are to be reused as feet for this print.
Unscrew the 4 screws underneath the charger.
Remove the "guts", unstick any foam tape stuck to them,
squeeze-fit into the bottom part.
It's a good idea to plug the USB cable in at that point as it gets awfully fiddly once the case is closed.
Cover the big unused surfaces around the guts with glue, attach the top, use clamps or some weights to keep it in place until it sticks.
Attach the four feet you'd removed from the original.
If you change dimensions in FreeCAD - "top_charger_offset" is where the center of the charging coil is inside your phone. If it's squat in the middle of your phone, just set it to half of phone_height. If not - slowly slide the phone over the charger till it starts charging, measure distance from upper edge of the phone to the charger middle, then continue sliding till it stops charging, measure, and enter the average of the two.
The dimensions for phone_height and phone_width are without any margins. Give them ~3mm tolerance plus whatever for the phone sleeve.
