Summary

This is a different take on the same concept of the Lily shade / hood to help focus the light beam. Instead of adding bulk to the front of the light, this borrows from light shaping tools in the film industry and utilizes what's called a "grid". This still focuses the light, but keeps the form factor smaller overall.

I am using my Lily spot light outside the norm - utilizing it for indoor use to provide a spot of light to accent my desk, so I did not worry about rain in this design. This may not be the best option for someone using these outside on their lawn (it may collect rain and keep it contained on the glass lens).
