Summary

I am new to the community, so this is my first posted model. Anyway, this model came about when I was raging at my now-adult kids about how many cups they use in a day because, as usual, the top rack of the dishwasher was full, and the bottom rack was empty. Long story short, I had several empty pint (16 oz) size Mason Jars from making jam, so I drew and printed 4 of these, put 8 Mason Jars in the cupboard and packed up all the rest of the cups in the house. This worked! My Gen Z kids love these things and have now taken to handwashing the mason jars they use!

I printed these in PLA, and yes, the tangs will deform and hold the deformed shape over time, but it still holds the jar snugly enough.

I added a custom embossing for each of my family members. I have included the Fusion 360 file if you wish to do the same. I am new to Fusion, so I'm sure I will get comments on how messy the timeline is, but it is all part of the learning curve (drawing in Fusion is nothing like Autocad, which I have been using since the 80s). The blank file already has a reference plane created to insert and SVG to emboss on the face.

I modified my Ender 3 V2 Neo with a geared metal extruder and the Capricorn Bowden Tube. I also upgraded the cooling with a custom hot end shroud (credit to motoyoyo and Mr_Mechano), so I only added supports for the handle)

Post-Printing

Tangs

The tangs are designed with a .2 gap at the top. When printing they will stick to the side, but a quick press of the tank easily breaks the light bond.
