The Tentacle Bathroom Radiator Towel Hook

Radiator hooks are great, but the ones I found I needed to adjust to my radiator's measurements. -- Remixing the Skadis Tentacle Hook to fit was just as easy and it turned out nice, so here goes.

Designed to fit 25.4mm pipes with a 14mm gap. In the process I very slightly shrunk the model for a better fit, so this hook is a little smaller than the original tentacle. I highly recommend measuring your radiator before printing this.

I have had good results printing tall and disabling supports for at least most of the suckers.

CAVEAT: I printed the first prototypes in PLA (because it's the only material I know how to print reliably right now) - I am not sure how well they will hold up to a hot radiator, but we will see when it gets colder again.

How I Designed This

My Blender Learning

I measured the dimensions of my radiator and added two cylinders representing them in blender.

Overlaid the tentacle hook and added a boolean difference modifier to remove the pipes from the hook.

Also needed to cut a tubular section from the back to allow mounting the hook without bending the pipes (too much). Fine tuning the model for your hardware will probably improve this aspect.
