Summary

I'm not THAT LAZY! (honest!)

Anyone can push a button, but this near "Rube Goldberg" device has been inspired by several gadgets I've seen on here, but I designed this from scratch for my use-case.

I created this because, after I injured my shoulder, it is not comfortable for me to raise my arm and push the firm button at arms-length, so I made this do-hicky with a strong support system around the handle and a long lever to make it easier to use my right (favoured) arm.

This "system" has been a long time coming, took a LOT of fiddling, but works PERFECTLY with each other part in the system, and is designed for OLD DUTCH bottles with the button-spigot. The volume is 6,000ml (6L) (approx 1.5 gallon). Pics in the description for further details.

I was inspired by (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6482806) but completely my own unique gadget to fet my use-case and did all my own measurements from scratch.

It snaps onto the handle first, then slots over the spigot like a plug. The jaw/tray snaps on the bottom, and the lever feeds into the hinges with an M3 or M4 nut/bolt 60mm long (or even a bent nail or a wood screw, for those who are innovative and hardcore DIY among us, the hole is a little bigger than 1/8 inch)

Where it's a "practical" product with reasonable repetition and stresses, I recommend printing this with 4 walls, a reasonably tight infill and only in the alignment indicated in the group STL. Layer lines matter when the lever is stressed the way this is, and supports are required for clean printing.

My printer had the following settings:

elephant foot reduction and wiping enabled.
0.2 layer height
0.3 first layer

4 wall loops
3 top shell, 3 bottom shell
10% adaptive cubic infill
infill combination

organic tree auto supports

outer brim only
5mm brim width
0.25mm brim gap

Fits cleanly on my 220mm by 220mm printer bed without difficulty.

These specs, (all others are default for my Kobra Neo) result in:
128g of filament
7hr42 print-time
Cost about $2.60 CAD (based upon my costs and availability)

Let me know how it works for you, and see if we can't make this even better! It works actually perfectly with my system (after about a week of testing and nearly a spool of waste), but I'd love to see other people use a similar product for other brands!

Enjoy!
