Summary

Back story:
I printed all of the monsters/summons/bosses for Gloomhaven/Frostahven/etc., but I couldn't find one for "The Relic" (or a few other bosses). Not wanting to eventually face a cardboard boss after playing with minis the entire game, I decided to make an approximation of this one.

Design notes:
I decided not to put in a ton of effort to match the artwork (given my incredibly limited abilities), and instead focused on the the general "idea", which is a sort of cube machine. Instead of building out all the random features/shapes/details/etc, I decided to use the Borg cube as a base (honestly, that alone looked so cool, I considered just printing that and being done with it :P) and make some adjustments. I cut a number of features into it, made some recesses, added gears, pulleys, sprockets, and other machine components, and hit print. I really like how it turned out, and I'm excited to face it if/when my party reaches that scenario :).

Print:
I resized it to 40mm (seemed like a good size based on the artwork), hollowed it out to 2.5mm wall thickness, cut a hole a hole through base (as well as a second smaller hole as a breather), tilted it on its side, supported it with light supports (with the the majority of supports on the base, including a few medium supports), and it printed without any issues.

Misc notes:
I included the model itself, which you can scale to whatever size you'd like, as well as a 40mm version with a base attached. I printed it with a base so that it would give it a bit more height (making it more formidable looking), and so that it would clear any obstacles and such next to it. I also included a V2 version, which i altered to add a few more details.I think the V2 looks even better, but I haven't printed it, so I don't know if the new details will cause issues.
