Summary

A friend asked me if it would be possible to improve the wind resistance of his VW bus with my 3D printer. The focus here was on the end cap of the awning.
If I had had a 3D scanner, the design process would have been much easier.
So I had to use photos, deskew photos, and jig stencils to create the design in several attempts.
This end cap consists of a flow-optimized main body and an adapter part for mounting. It became apparent that the plastic catches of the original part worked in 3D printing, but did not provide sufficient stability for handling in practice.
So M5 nuts were inserted in the adapter part during printing (Pause_Print in Klipper).
Unfortunately, I had no better screw for the 3rd attachment point than the Phillips wood screw.
The adapter part already fits very well into the main body as a form fit - additionally I glued the part with 2K glue for more security.
