CA glue the backing plate onto the backside of the fender, and tap the whole assembly onto your truck with a hammer and socket if necessary.
I have still been having issues with the fender spokes snapping in use, but i live in a place with particularly awful pavement. Adjust setting to whatever seems suitable to your needs
