Summary

I had to move my little 3018 cnc machine to the garage where I have exhaust fans and a fume extractor. I had it sitting on my desk in my home office but when I cut acrylic with the laser it would make the entire upstairs smell like burnt plastic. Of course the little woman didn’t take kindly to that.

I have a 4” exhaust hose, It’s basically a flexible dryer duct with a duct fan to pull the fumes away. I Smashed the last 4 or 5 inches of the 4” hose to smash it down to about 2” tall. I designed this little clamp that will slide into the end tee slot on the 3018 bed and then clamp down on the 4” hose.

I used a 3mm socket head screw that is 20mm’s long. I inserted a 3mm threaded brass nut insert into the lower half of the clamp.

I placed both the top and bottom parts on a common brim for an easy print.
