Summary

Have you ever been frustrated that your tap or die is not perfectly lined up to the hole or rod you are threading? This design is intended to ensure that the thread is cut exactly perpendicular to the direction you are working in!
There are two components: One is the die-stock holder for use with threading rods, and the other component is threading bore which has a dual function: when threading rods, it fits inside the die-stock holder to accurately guide the rod to the die, and when using a tap, it can be used independently by placing the tap through bore and keeping the wider base flush with the surface below (see photos).
The die-stock holder has been designed for use with a die-stock having an outer diameter of 37mm (max die OD of 1 inch), depth no greater than 18.60, and supporting arms with a diameter of 9.70mm (shoulder of 11.50mm diameter).
There is a comprehensive choice of threading bores (depending on the required diameter) - attached are STLs for popular metric and Imperial sizes.
Note: in addition to the STLs, you will require four M4x6x6 brass (heat) threaded inserts, and four 12mm x M4 bolts.

Post-Printing

If threading a rod, insert the threaded inserts into the back piece of the die-stock holder, and insert the required bore. The die-stock can now be placed into the holder and then the front put in place before securing with the four screws.

Blank design for the holder in OnShape from which a scanned image of the die-stock was removed using a Boolean operation. Miscellaneous additional bits done with meshmixer
