Summary

I didn't like most DRLs for my car, so I decided to make my own.

Supports were used only for the retainer, which has 2 versions, one with a punch hole one without in case you want to manually adjust the position. Additionally the diffuser has 2 versions; one 2 mm thick, the other 3 mm thick. Pictures show the results with 2 mm thickness.

For the lights themselves I used a 12 V LED strip I had lying around and a couple meters of 0.75 mm2 cable (18 AWG, speaker cable).

Wiring was quite rudimentary, just solder the red cable to the positive and the black to the negative of the strip, then connect directly to the position light of your headlights.

As a way of sealing everything I used Loctite's gray silicone SI 5699, this should make the ring quite water resistant.

Finally, the retainer was glued with super glue, but you could use what works best for you. This contraption has already traveled 20 kilometers (12 miles and a half) of bumpy road and nothing happened.
