Summary

I was inspired by the Tagliatelle pasta form from arons (thing:3361714) and wanted to have more of this.
It's my very first self 3D design project. Hope you like it - I'm curious of your makes and happy when you post them here.

Casarecce are short twists of pasta originating from Sicily which appear rolled up on themselves. Casarecce pairs well with cream/cheese, meat, napolitana, seafood, pesto and vegetables. (Source: Wikipedia)

Do not use PLA, it's too stiff - recommend PETG
The dough may develop a lot of force on the pressure die, so take care for a solid build!

Filling recommendation: 100% filling with 2x duplicated filling lines + additional wall lines
Temperature recommendation: material temperature slightly higher (approx 5°C) than usual to improve layer adhesion
Build plate adhesion: Not mandatory, 3mm brim worked fine for me
Material used: approx. 21g (6.8m)

How I Designed This

A newbie project with CorelDraw and FreeCAD

Until I started this project, I never made any stuff with CAD or even 3D design before, just was familiar with 2D design in CorelDraw.
It was challenging and sometimes confusing. But my trial-anbd-error method gave me a steep learning curve :-)

The shape was measured from an original CA form with a digital calpier and then I drawed single layers in 2D with CorelDraw.
These were separately exported to SVG files. Those then imported into FreeCAD and extruded there to solid form in a fitting thickness. Afterwards, the single elements were sticked together into one form and this exported to an STL file.
