Summary

Handle stem and base have a press in fit when I print them, they would be made permanent with glue for whatever material you print, but honestly the glue probably will not fit without manual scale adjustment.

I printed all files at 59% size for a 5 gallon aquarium with a sand substrate. I disabled uniform scaling when printing the middle part and extended the Z to suit the length I needed.

To assemble, just firmly press the middle into the sifter, and then press the handle onto the middle. At my printed 59% size, and for aquarium sand, it seems strong enough for regular use. Permanent and stronger fixture could probably be accomplished using a small machine screw and nut, and drilling an appropriate hole through the overlapping joints.

I use this to sift out old snail shells and various other debris from my 5 gallon sand substrate aquarium.

Thank davedelay for the sifter, I just adjusted it for my needs!

How I Designed This

I took the STL files from davedelay into Blender, cut off the hand handle using the boolean modifier and a generic cube, added my own stem, duplicated the attached stem to be used as the middle and handle parts, and reduced the middle's size to use the boolean modifier on the attached stem and handle. I joined the attached stem part to the sifter part and then exported each piece as a separate STL file.
