Summary

This is a somakey enclosure and a beats fit pro case holder that can be attached to a desk either via double sided 3m sticky tape, or with screws.

If you don't need the beats fit pro holder, there is a version that excludes it and only houses somakey.

somakey is a simple project that allows easy switching between several preset stations on SomaFM. Today this might be called a macro pad, but it was inspired by a ~1980s car radio with a few preset stations. Each key mapped to keys on a keyboard, and a Python helper runs in an X terminal window to listen for key presses and control a media player, display current and past tracks and display the SomaFM's station graphics intentionally with low resolution.

It houses a 1x4 Adafruit neokey board, kailh switches, keycaps and a QT Py with code to switch between three preset SomaFM stations. When pressed, each neokey lights up the corresponding key in primary the color of the station's graphics. The QT Py is intended to connect via USB to a host system running macOS or Linux that has powered speakers and a few common software dependencies.
