How I Designed This

I wanted another Moonlander keyboard

I broke my wrist in 2020 and now I need an ergonomic keyboard with a lot of tent on the left side. I spent a lot of time researching what would be good and settled on a ZSA Moonlander, after changing the keys and the key caps the total cost was over £500.

With the post covid 3 days in the office and 2 at home I have fond my self having to pack up the keyboard and take it to the office and I decided that I wanted a keyboard to leave in the office and so I designed the Marslander Ergonomic keyboard.

The key layout is based on the Moonlander so that I do not have to learn 2 different layouts.
The controller is a RP2040 running KMK which make modifying the key layout much easer.
I have designed it to use brass inserts so that it can be opened without damaging he threads
I have filled it with lead shot and epoxy to give it some weight and damp the noise
I have filled it with foam to also damp the noise
