Summary

This is my interpretation of a floating center cap for vehicles with wheels that uses a 50-52mm wheel center cap. Designed and tested on a set of BBS RS722, but also fits other models like the RS771, tested on stock VW steelies, and sould fit on any VAG wheel with 50-52mm. It's part of my restoration and personalization project on a VW Golf MK3 20 Jahre. I put the design for free to all my car enthusiasts bros out there, specially for those of the VAG scene.

You will need for each cap a 608 bearing, 3 bearing balls of 5 or 6mm diameter, an M4 metal thread insert and an M4 bolt that allows cleareance for a washer jut a little bigger than the center of the bearing, and that can be used with the bolt, but not too long that reaches the end of the insert and not tighten completely. I made it with M4x6 and it's enough. Just super glue the balls on the holes in the back of the floating cap, install the bearing on the base, then the floating cap, and insert the bolt and the washer on the back.
