Halo Warthog body, mounts and driver for the Traxxas TRX-4M RC car.
This fits on the factory frame and has mounts that replace the stock bumper mounts.
It is held on by magnets.
The front mount requires a small piece of metal bent into a Z-shape.
This could be improved upon, but I had some scrap sheet metal and didn't feel like tinkering further with the print.
You may want to scale this up slightly more, I wish I had printed it about 1cm longer, so that the front reached past the frame rails.

I printed in sections due to print bed size and printing time.
I split it by front hood, back end, cockpit body, cockpit interior, and roof.I used blue filament because it was on hand, but the next print will be in grey.
Post-Printing
Assembly and painting
This was printed in pieces and glued to together with super glue.
When putting the magnets in dry fit everything before gluing the magnets in, so that you avoid my mistake of getting the polarity reversed and having to reprint a mount bracket.
The paint was Tamiya RC paint, with no primer.
Because I only had blue filament, I started with a base silver layer, so that any scratches will hopefully show silver instead of blue.
Roof and interior were printed separately and painted black.
Body was painted green, and then masked off and black painted over top.
Parts:
warthog_body_magnet_mounts
replaces the bronco/defender bumpers
warhog_front_block
this is glued inside the front body behind the winch to hold a magnet
warthog_back_magnet_block
this is glued to the bottom of the rear body to hold a magnet
warthog_back_cover
fits inside the back opening. It will need some trimming to fit.
How I Designed This
Design process
The body was scaled up to match the TRX-4M length, then hollowed out using Microsoft 3D Builder. I then used block subtract to remove sections to get a body shape I was happy with.
The driver was scaled and split into sections with Microsoft 3D Builder so that the arms could be posed.
The front magnet mount block was created in 3D builder with the subtract tool so that it would glue in well.
The body mounts and back magnet block were created in OpenSCAD.
