Summary

This is one of my first creations using HueForge (https://shop.thehueforge.com) which is a "filament painting" application that generates 3D models from images. If you have a teenage daughter like me, or if you know a Taylor Swift fan (or even are one yourself), I hope you like this and might consider sharing your makes.

The predominantly purple photo was the image file that I loaded into HueForge. I created the photo by taking an image of Taylor Swift performing at one of her Eras Tour concerts and "simplifying" the busy background using Photoshop to make it more suitable for the 3D model. The STL file was the 3D model that was generated by HueForge (after polygon reduction and model repair using various online resources). The gray-ish photo is what my final print looked like.

I sliced the model using Cura 5.5.0 for Mac, and relevant important settings were as follows:

Infill 100%
Layer height 0.08 mm
Base layer 0.16mm
Layer 1: started with black filament
Layer 5: changed to red/green/blue coextrusion filament
Layer 13: changed to gray filament
Layer 18: changed to white filament

Your results may vary based on the specific kind of filaments that you use and the transmission distance properties (read more about it on the HueForge website if interested) of each filament. For layers 5-12, I would have preferred a purple-ish filament, but I didn't have any—hence my usage of the red/green/blue coextrusion filament which overall has an aqua blue-ish tint as you can see in the photo.
