Summary

This is a rough replacement camera mount collar for GoSky 20-60x80 spotting scope. The original metal collar on mine broke and I couldn't find a decent replacement. A printed one out of PETG feels substantially sturdier than the thin cast aluminum one.

My printer prints it with minimal slop. You may need to do a small amount of sanding though.

The base is a little thick, but you have plenty of meat left to tap your screws.

You will need to use a 1/4-20 tap for the lock screw and the camera mount screw. A bottoming tap would work best, but I left enough meat so you can use a taper tap if that's all you can find.

I didn't bother with captive nuts. I figured I'd probably break the new one after a couple months and didn't feel like having to keep any extra hardware laying around. So far they've held up fine.

Prints fine with a standard 0.4 nozzle at 0.2 layer height.

Any material should be fine. I used PLA and PETG for my tests. I'd recommend some thick walls.
