I used Spiralize Outer Contour property, but thin wall without infill can give more control over print.
Post-Printing
Remove supports and raft
Ordinary process for PLA.
Sandpaper outer surface
Grind a bit to smooth supports and raft leftovers.
How I Designed This
Design is done in Blender
- Create Ico Sphere
- Add Decimate modifier (optional)
- Create dual mech using Tissue Add-on
- Add Wireframe modifier
- Add Cast modifier
- Add Subdivide surface to smooth the mesh (optional)
- Fine-tune modifier and export as STL for 3D printing
