Summary

Need an easy way to mount LED strip to your Ikea Kallax shelves? This is just what you need.

We've included LED diffusers for all sizes of board used in Kallax. Kallax appears to have boards of a medium (37mm) and a large (50mm) thickness used for the borders. For the shelves in the middle, they all seem to be a standard small size. At least the number of different Kallax units we have in our home show those differences.
We've included cable management mounts for medium and large border wood. You can tuck loose leads away. Use as many of these as you need.
All parts have 2mm screw holes, if you wish to nail or screw them in. We use Scotch Extreme mounting tape in our shelves with no issues as well.
All brackets accept most LED strips. We use sheathed WS2815 12 volt strip.
Four of these brackets together fill a shelf space. There's enough gap for the LED strip to flex around and go to the next shelf too.
The amount of diffusion is down to your infill. We've printed this at 0.2mm layer height and at 10% infill for a modest amount of light diffusion.
You'll need to print these in a transparent filament like clear PLA. The cable management can be printed in whatever colour you like. White PLA for white Kallax units, and black PLA for darker units.
The STLs and SketchUp files are included for your convenience.
By downloading and printing these, it is assumed you know what you're doing with LED strip, or have someone who knows what they're doing installing the LED strip. No warranty or tech support is offered on any of this. You are responsible for safely fitting these and any electrical equipment that may operate within it.
