Summary

An attachment point for modular arms using a GoPro inspired joint. It's meant to be installed to Kubota's SVL75-3 on the left side of the cabin, over the plate supporting the forward left AC vent. You'll need a 14mm (deepwell) socket.

    Upon installation, start each of the 3 bolts by hand. May take some wiggling.

How I Designed This

  • Measured the distances of the 3 holes centers on the metal backing plate.
  • Asked ChatGPT to generate an .stl file for a triangle with dimensions of the 3 holes.
  • Using Blender, put 5.5mm radius cylinders over each corner of that triangle.
  • Shaped a 4mm thick cube to be the "plate"
  • Applied a boolean difference modifier for the plate against the 3 cylinders.
  • Added a torus with 3mm diameter radius and a huge inner radius. Then filled the top and bottom planes of the torus. This will later be the negative space for the SVL's existing plastic bracket of the AC vent.
  • Cut the joints off existing modular arm files and fused it with the plate.
  • Applied a boolean difference modifier for the plate against the torus.

An earlier iteration had a 2nd relief cut and extended above the AC mounting bracket. This was subject to a lot of vibration and flimsy. Thus, the mounting point was moved to a more central location between the bolts.
