Summary

This motorcycle helmet mirror is mounted on the chin of the helmet and is designed to fit the following flat oval mirror:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CVMSDZNR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Unlike the side mounted version, the chin mounted mirror isn't prone to vibration when riding over bumps. The flat mirror provides an undistorted rear view.

  • Filament brand:

    Creality

  • Filament material:

    PLA

  • Notes:

I had to reduce "Support X/Y Distance" to 0.4 mm and set "Support Distance Priority" to "Z overrides X/Y", in order to ensure the top of the support is close enough to the top overhanging portion of the horn. I also set "Support Overhang Angle" to 55 degrees.

Post-Printing

I glued the flat mirror to the holder with E6000.
The ball end of the chin horn lightly snaps into the ball joint on the mirror holder.
I used a small screw (optional) to snug the ball joint prior to inserting a drop of E6000 in the ball joint with the mirror at the desired angle.

I sanded the base to match the contour of the helmet.
Then, I glued the chin horn to the helmet with E6000.

Let the E6000 cure 48 hours.

How I Designed This

Designed in Blender.
Sliced with Creality Slicer.
