Summary

The Ring

You can add the ring to your case by merging it on the plate.

For instance, in PrusaSlicer select the two objects, merge them, then select just one of the merged objects. That will let you position one object against the other w/o the object returning to the plate.

Merging also causes the slicer to render them as one solid. If you did not merge it, the 2nd object would render as a solid inside the other solid rendering (something you can see looking at your slice layers).

Depending on the material you likely won't need supports. Your choice.

At the current scale the ring is just to allow it to be tied or pinned to something... say to prevent it from falling out of a bag. If you wanted to use it on a key ring you where going to carry around you may want to scale it thicker.

The Pin

You may want to print it at .15mm layers to improve the curves.

The pin has the brim built into it so you will need to break it off round brim... and maybe shave any remnants.

It is a snug install. After inserting the pin all the way through simply use something like a soldering iron to melt the open end of the pin into some type of hat (head). You don't have to melt it to touch the case, just to make it to big to get it through the hole.

Taking out the pin, just cut off one head and push it out.

A printed pin is less likely to randomly break like a piece of 1.75mm filament. You may see the number 8 on the end of the pin, this likely won't render at this size. My routine adds the number so I know what the length is when looking at the stl.
