Summary

This assembly contains a fully closed housing for the open-source ASIC Bitcoin miner Bitaxe ( https://bitaxe.org/ ). The standard Bitaxe Ultra 204 is enhanced by a lager display, a better fan and especially a copper heatsink. As these are difficult to obtain, the process of adapting a generic skiving fin heatsink is explained, please see the given pictures. An excellent thermal flow from the powerful BM1366 ASIC chip to the heatsink is of utter importance, therefore applying a high quality thermally conductive paste between chip and the polished side of the heatsink is mandatory. Furthermore this design features the fan attached to the housing, to avoid mechanical loads and wiggling on the heatsink when assembling the PCB and the housing.
Caveat: The exact positions of the electronic components on the PCB sometimes varies between the different iterations of the Bitaxe Ultra. Also the "standard" 0,96" Raspberry Pi Display differs in size depending on the chosen manufacturer, therefore compare your Bitaxe to the CAD model before you start printing.
If you don´t want to use the copper heatsink, the next best option is to place a 20x20x1mm³ copper shim between the chip and the standard Bitaxe aluminium heatsink. As the given copper heatsink is 15mm high and the stock aluminium one just 10mm there is enough space to also fit in different brands of heatsinks.
