Summary

You need to use a 3M VHB tape / pad (or similar) so the thickness of the material would compensate for the irregularities of the surface. Also take care to cut out the adhesive pad where the mount is not touching the helmet, so the chin ventilation is working. You may need to extend standard J-hook mount to get the correct camera angle, otherwise you may film handlebars only.
