Baofeng UV-9G GMRS handheld transceiver mount v1.00 - WORK IN PROGRESS
I am sharing early in this process as there is not much if anything out there for the UV-9G and I sure appreciate it when others share their work.
This is a work in progress towards a cupholder-secured radio mount/stand that eventually will have components for protecting/securing the SMA-to-Nconnector dongle wire used for external antennas/mag-mount antennas as well as a hand mic retainer or spot to clip.
Included files:
STL file for UV-9G-Grip-v1.00 of the mount/grip part that is more or less a test fit stage.
- STL for the UV-9G-GeneralShapeDesign-v1.00 radio mock up I created to negative-create this mount in case you want to try to design your own.
I only ask if you do that remix/modify this or use either component in a new design that you also post/share as a remix so everyone can enjoy these and any improvements made.
So far tolerances are great. This stage has no clip or retainer to firmly secure the radio from sliding out the top, it's just tight tolerances and it's close enough to hold the radio in place upside down with some decent shakes to test the fit/grip. It's designed to utilize the belt clip post/knob on the top/rear of the radio (with the plastic clip part out of the way). This likely is not necessary and I imagine it would work well without that knob installed on the back.
