Summary

I like the idea, but 2 important comments:
The ground coffee filler opening is sealed by the lid, so if I want to drink flavored ground coffee from time to time, I can't do that.

There is a reason the ground coffee filler opening has a slotted lid. The central unit is still steaming long after brewing is finished, and this steam can escape there (and through the side vents).

If the lid covers this, the steam and moisture cannot escape and can cause mould.

My change: I made a grill on the top cover where the grinder duct is. For a nice look, the grid is circular, not following the asymmetrical shape of the channel. The grid prevents any object from falling in, but lets steam out when the machine is working. The original bottom tilting cover can be removed.

The others modification removed the handle hole because it was close to the grille. It is unnecessary anyway because the lid has a protruding rim so it can be easily removed without the handle hole.
