Summary

A Seattle Kraken hockey puck display stand. Freestanding, tentacled, and straight out of The Deep, this cephalopod(ish) model gives you a way to present your pucks in Kraken style.

The pictured model is printed at 0.12mm layer height with 0.3mm line width on a 0.4mm nozzle.

Be sure to print with ≥1.0mm walls and 20% infill to maximize strength (the ends of the tentacles will otherwise be fragile).

Sliced in Cura using tree support and gyroid infill.

Post-Printing

Two Model Types

Two models types are included:

a two-piece model that is split along a backplane, allowing you to print flat to the bed and assemble with glue. There are dowel holes to assist with alignment (sized for toothpicks or snips of brad nails). This model preserves includes a more detailed logo embossing on the rear, and will yield better curves on the rear (although the parting line will be visible).
a one-piece model, with a simplified logo embossing on the rear side, intended to be printed with the rear side down. FDM printers will likely struggle with the curves on the backside, but does not require assembly.
