Summary

I'm learning about horticulture, and wanted to see how I can do more gardening in my small apartment by combining 3D printing.

Most videos instruct to cut green onions down close to the white, leaving a bit of green. This leaves a tapered bulb. I like this video where he tests all 3 scenarios of cutting https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5vyzhmjNvo

Then just followed the instructions in this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrOJ95O7JHg

I made a 50mm disc with different gauged holes from 6.5mm to 12mm. I am using a small (56mm) mason jar. If my jar is wider, I can make a larger disc, and make different sized holes. What are some common mason jar diameters?
It is printed with low infill but stronger walls to resolve
-sinking
-weathering resistance

Version 2: corners are beveled so you don't prick yourself and there's a groove in the center for the rubber band that comes with your store bought onions. It also helps keep the onions afloat.
