Summary

Motor mount for Traxxas X-Maxx, designed for a Castle 1717 series 48mm motor. Includes a version with an integrated fan mount and one without, and a 1mm spacer that can be used to shim the mount to fit larger gears. Without shimming, it will fit up to 50/20 spur/pinion.

Bottom mounting holes are designed to accept M4x8mm brass threaded inserts; top fan holes will accept M3x3 inserts.

For the version without a fan mount, a metal hose clamp can be used to secure the motor down to the mount. A couple of high-strength zip ties can be used for the version with a fan as there will not be room for the worm drive without modifying the chassis.

If using Cura, setting Slicing Tolerance to Exclusive will result in the best fit.

An extremely strong material (reinforced nylon or something with similar or greater strength and layer adhesion) is highly recommended.
