Summary

I needed a box to protect a YoLink temperature sensor for my pool, and I decided to hang it from the underside of the skimmer cover (with a cutout to allow the sensor wire hanging down into the skimmer). This keeps it out of sunlight and protects it from getting doused with splashes. You can also stick a small piece of foam in the sensor wire cutout to make it fully waterproof.

The box is 80x80mm with an interior of 70x70mm and the nut which goes through the skimmer lid hole is 20mm in diameter.

Skimmer_Mount.stl - all four objects fit together.

Skimmer_Mount_Screw.stl - screw that sits atop the skimmer lid, with a large bevelled head so you can easily grab it to lift the lid.

Skimmer_Mount_Nut.stl - nut that fits through the hole in the skimmer lid, threaded.

Skimmer_Mount_Lid.stl - lid for the box.

Skimmer_Mount_Box.stl - the box.

Post-Printing

The nut should fit through the hole in the bottom of the box. It's a tight fit and it will snap into place. This is a good enough mechanical connection to hold it in place, but I used crazy glue to permanently affix it to the box.

Sensor then goes inside, wire strung through the cutout on the side, lid slides into place. This will go through a 20mm hole in the skimmer lid, hanging from the bottom, and then the screw will tighten into the nut to hold it in place.
